Midmark has reengineered the dermatology room design to combine three key activities effectively in one space:
This seamlessly efficient dermatology room design enhances the caregiver-patient relationship.
- Enhanced Ergonomics
Enhanced ergonomic design helps divide the room into consultation and procedure zones with the interactive data terminal.
Within the procedure zone, the adjustability and rotation of the procedure table bring the patient to the caregiver.
Table flexibility creates procedural options that would not be possible with a typical exam table. Mobile carts enhance efficiency by optimizing access to instruments and supplies.
- Consultation Zone
The consultation zone of the dermatology procedure room is designed around communication between caregiver and the patient. A large interactive screen provides:
- Ready access to patient information
- A more intimate dialogue between caregiver and patient
- Needed educational information
Walls surrounding the consultation zone have displays for related care products.
- Public/Private Zones
Clearly separated from the patient care zone, the visitor/consultation zone, or public zone, provides seating for family/visitors and patient for counsel with the physician and interaction with the computer display.
The patient care zone, or private zone, allows maximum flexibility and efficiency for caregivers throughout procedures.
- Barrier-Free Access
In this barrier-free layout, space is kept open to allow a 60-in. wheelchair turning area and transfer of the patient to the exam table.
The distance from the door to the corner of the room (18 in.) is needed for patient egress.
The Barrier-Free® procedure chair is fully accessible, providing greater safety for patients and caregivers.
