The keys to effective podiatry room design are:
In the Midmark podiatry room, the podiatry chair is positioned at an angle for effortless access to the foot area. There is also an abundance of streamlined, well-organized storage.
- Procedure Zone Efficiency
The procedure zone puts the caregiver in the center with features for efficient performance of procedures:
- Mobile instrument/supply cart
- Swing arm instrument tray
- Fully positionable chair with full clearance below the foot area
- Wireless foot control of the procedure chair
- Public/Private Zones
The family/visitor zone, or public zone, does not encroach on the movement of the caregiver. Clearly separated from the procedure zone, it includes displays for educational brochures and related care products.
The procedure zone itself provides flexibility with movable cart and swing arm tray. The Midmark podiatry room design gives the caregiver efficient access to all areas from the center of the room.
- Barrier-Free Access
In this barrier-free layout, space is kept open to allow a 60-in. wheelchair turning area and transfer of the patient to the exam table.
The distance from the door to the corner of the room (18 in.) is needed for patient egress.
The Barrier-Free® procedure table is fully accessible, providing greater safety for patients and caregivers.
